Internet Hacking Is About to Get Much Worse

This article is about how one of the most major parts to global security is often overlooked. This overlooked potion is cybersecurity. Costing more than $600 billion annually in crime costs, cybersecurity should be seen as a much more pressing issue. Investors look at cyber threats as among their top worries when it comes to business. The fear of getting hacked and losing at reputability if their company can be a fearful outcome of a cyber attack. Countries fear cyber attacks as well. Allegedly China has interfered with the manufacturing with cloud storage hardware that is used by companies like Apple and Amazon. Both of which have large presences in the United States. With a cyber attack like this, it is unsure how it will affect relations with the two countries. Another similar situation is with how the United Kingdom and the Netherlands are going after Russia. Russia recently tries to hack a chemical weapons monitoring body. These cyber attacks prove dangerous in rising tensions between nations.

This article relates to the idea of global security because it brings forward a new way in which countries can attack one another. By using cybersecurity attack countries are about to set out and hurt other nations without receiving many repercussions. And with cybercrime also accounting for hundreds of billions of dollars in damage it is time to look at the threat of the internet know more than ever.
